A Visit To Downing Street
I had the great privilege of attending a meeting at 10 Downing Street on Friday morning. It was a completely surreal experience walking up to the famous black door and watching it open in front of me so that I could enter. Inside there was a reception for entrepreneurs and members of the early stage finance community drawn from across the UK. We were then summoned to our seats and the Prime Minister addressed us, delivering three very clear and concise messages.

The Euro Strikes – Again!
Just as we were starting to hear whispers last week that the Euro crisis might be starting the ease following a couple of successful bond issues, Friday the 13th struck with a vengeance! While the commentators in the media rushed to pour fuel on the crisis, this is a good time to stand back and remind ourselves why Europe and the Euro came into being in the first place.

I was recently involved in a fascinating discussion about what we can all do to improve the business environment in the year ahead.
Rather to my surprise one of the main themes to have emerged from this discussion was the importance of persuading everyone, whether they be public sector, big corporates or SMEs, to pay their bills on time.
