Lynne Wells

Lynne Wells is a senior associate in the Corporate team at MBM Commercial LLP.

Lynne has experience advising on complex investments of various sizes, especially in the development sector where she has worked on several 'first of its kind' transactions.

Her recent experience includes advising Spouts International Limited, a leading manufacturer of water filters in East Africa on its corporate restructuring and subsequent impact investments by European funders. Lynne is skilled in drafting and negotiating commercial contracts, as well as advising start-ups, NGOs and SMEs on financing and corporate matters.

Prior to joining MBM Commercial, Lynne worked in Uganda for eight years including at Dentons and the East African Development Bank where she worked with commercial banks, development finance institutions, private investors and project sponsors on a number of financings and investments across Africa. 

Lynne graduated from the University of Oxford (St Hugh's College) with a BA in Law.

Lynne is a solicitor qualified in England and Wales. She spent the first 10 years of her career in London at Shearman & Sterling LLP, Sullivan & Cromwell LLP and Eversheds LLP, advising on project finance and corporate matters in respect of international projects.

Personal Biography

Lynne published a book in 2023 'Detours: a journey of runaway and return', a memoir about finding healing, renewal and purpose through faith. She loves gospel music and enjoys volunteering in her local community and spending time with family.
