Nicholas Oprescu-Havriliuc first joined as a Trainee in Edinburgh in 2023. Nicholas' first seat was in our Corporate Team. In this seat, Nicholas was involved in corporate transactions with a particular focus on capital raising, mergers & acquisitions, technology and scale-up.

Nicholas is now in his second seat within our Intellectual Property, Data and Commercial Contracts (IPDC).

Nicholas graduated with First Class Honours in LLB Law and French from the University of Edinburgh. He was awarded the Joelle Godard Prize, which is presented annually to the student with the best overall performance graduating with this degree. Nicholas has also spent a year abroad studying French law at Sciences Po in Paris.

Nicholas has a keen interest in anything and everything technology and robotics. His paper on “Algorithms and Artificial Intelligence: A Criticism of Their Implementation in the Modern Workplace as It Relates to Employment Law” was ranked top ten in various eJournals on the Social Science Research Network. Nicholas also holds a certificate in Data Ethics, AI and Responsible Innovation.

Nicholas is from Toronto, Canada. He speaks English, French, and Romanian.
