MBM Commercial to attend World Tech Legal Summit in Malta
Tracey Ginn, Partner and Head of MBM Commercial’s Corporate Team, will attend the World Tech Legal Annual Summit 2026 in Malta from 16th to 18th of November.
Hosted by Chetcuti Cauchi Advocates, the Summit will bring together World Tech Legal member firms, founders, investors and academics to discuss “Global Innovation & Tech Investment in the Age of Disruption”.
The main programme will take place at the University of Malta Valletta Campus on the 17th of November.
Supporting international growth
For many of the businesses MBM Commercial advises, international growth begins at an early stage. A UK technology company might attract investment from international funds, develop intellectual property in one jurisdiction, employ people across several countries and enter new markets before its corporate structure has fully developed to support that growth.
This can raise key legal considerations around corporate structure, investment terms, international share incentives and planning for exit. At the same time, developments in artificial intelligence, digital regulation and geopolitics are influencing investment decisions and how businesses scale. These are among the issues the Summit will explore.
Bringing together advisers and businesses from different jurisdictions provides an opportunity to compare how individual markets approach investment, growth and the protection of innovation. It also strengthens the working relationships needed to coordinate advice when a transaction or expansion involves several countries.

Tracey’s transatlantic experience is particularly relevant to the Summit’s discussion around international flows and structuring technology businesses for growth, investment and exit.
Tracey Ginn said:
“Many of the UK businesses we advise look to the United States and other markets for investment and growth as part of their scaling journey. The structure of the business, from where the holding company sits to how investors and teams are brought in, often determine how smoothly the business can later raise capital or exit. The Summit is a valuable opportunity to compare how those decisions play out across jurisdictions and to strengthen the adviser relationships our clients rely on when they expand."
Alexander Lamley recently joined the World Tech Legal Board and supports MBM Commercial’s role as the network’s Foundation Member. He has assisted in developing the network of members. His work advising businesses on early-stage investment, spin-outs, M&A and US expansion, including Delaware flip structures, closely aligns with the Summit’s investment and growth themes.
The Value of World Tech Legal
Established by MBM Commercial, World Tech Legal connects clients with specialist technology law firms when they expand internationally.
With one member firm per jurisdiction, each with a particular focus on technology and scaling businesses, the Network provides trusted support from specialist legal advisors across jurisdictions.
Whether a business is raising capital from overseas investors, making an international acquisition, protecting intellectual property in a new market, hiring locally or establishing a local subsidiary, the network’s members provide support to coordinate advice across jurisdictions.
Regular in-person events such as this years’ Malta Summit help to build those relationships and give member firms a better understanding of one another’s expertise.
The Malta Summit Programme
This year’s summit will cover topics such as capital flows, structuring technology businesses for investment and exit, AI and digital regulation, international teams, private capital and the protection of innovation. A World Tech Legal Roundtable will also give member firms the opportunity to discuss developments in their respective markets and identify potential areas for collaboration.
