People Update 2024

We have been delighted to welcome to following members of staff to Team MBM this year:

• Ed Grundy joined our Dispute Resolution team as a Director - an important appointment to support our plans to develop this practice area. Ed has a wide range of experience in litigation and dispute resolution including matters arising from share valuations, real estate, corporate finance and banking, as well as PI and professional regulation.

• Earlier this year, Lianne MacPherson joined our commercial property team as a Senior Associate. A highly experienced commercial property lawyer, Lianne has a career spanning time spent at leading global law firms, where she has gained over 16 years’ experience in all aspects of commercial property work and sectors in Scotland.

• Alexa Carrero-Haig, a qualified US Attorney (New York bar), has joined our growing US team as an Associate. Prior to joining us, Alexa worked for 5 years in Linklaters’ US team in London, where she has gained experience of dealing with US and UK listed clients on general corporate, M&A and cross-border transactions.

• Kirsten Sims has recently joined our Banking and Finance Team as an Associate. Kirsten qualified as a solicitor with DWF, where she worked in their finance and restructuring team and she has also worked as an analyst at both BlackRock and Morgan Stanley. This is an important appointment to support our plans to develop our dedicated non-contentious banking practice.

On 1 August this year we were delighted to announce the well-deserved promotions of Ross McGregor and Laura Currie, who together make up our Company Secretarial Team:

Ross McGregor was promoted to Senior Company Secretary. A long-serving member of staff, Ross has built up the firm’s company secretarial practice from scratch over the past 18 years and he has been instrumental in developing the firm’s full-service offering.

Laura was promoted to Company Secretary, having recently achieved her Company Secretarial Paralegal Accreditation. Laura joined the firm initially as an Office Junior and has worked tirelessly to reach this milestone.
