Carcinotech
Carcinotech is a cutting-edge MedTech company specializing in the development of 3D printed living tumors utilizing patient-derived biopsies, primary cells, immune cells, and cancer stem cells. The company's innovative technology facilitates the creation of advanced in vitro models, providing a versatile platform for efficient drug screening, pre-clinical studies, and personalized medicine testing. The company spun-out from the University of Edinburgh in 2018, with founder Ishani Malhotra founding Carcinotech with the aim of improving the chances of survival for individuals suffering from cancer.
MBM are proud to have supported Ishani throughout her journey with Carcinotech, from being a finalist in the Converge Kickstarter programme to funding rounds which will enable expansion into North America.
Carcinotech continues to make progress and grow and in 2023 raised £4.2m of funding in a pre series A funding round. This funding round will allow Carcinotech to expand into the US market after already forging strong partnerships in Europe.
