Michael is a trusted adviser to entrepreneurs, family offices, early stage companies, PE/VC investors and funds.

He helps to raise investment (debt and equity), buy and sell businesses, and corporate restructuring (often in times of financial distress or insolvency).

He is also consulted by boards of directors for guidance on legal and general matters, particularly in relation to complex situations.

Michael is well known for advising investors how best to realise non-performing assets, which may include financial restructurings, accelerated disposals and formal insolvencies.

During his career, Michael has worked for international law firms in London and has been involved in dozens of high profile transactions. His clients range from entrepreneurs and growth companies to financial institutions and PLCs.

Michael is ranked in Chambers for Corporate/M&A: Mid-Market - London and described as representing a broad client base, including companies and entrepreneurs, in their transactional activity. He offers ancillary expertise in insolvency and restructuring matters.

“The MBM team had previously assisted us with various investment rounds and other matters, and so we were keen to work with them in relation to our recent banking transaction with a new lender. The MBM team were great at explaining the various elements of the documentation to us, and we felt supported at each stage of the transaction. There were various elements, numerous documents and parties, but we felt that the MBM team managed the various complexities in an efficient and responsive manner, and kept us up to date on the status at each stage. Both Michael Arnott and Eleanor Murphy displayed a clear understanding of the transaction and our needs as a business throughout and we would be keen to work with MBM again in the future.“
